Estimating bird densities in an Afromontane forest, Mazumbai, Tanzania.

This report was written about 1995 and modified slightly during the next few years. However – in spite of several requests by Jon Fjeldså (who was responsible for the project) – the report never metamorphosed into a scientific paper. Part of the explanation is that JR was too ambitious about including a general hypothesis about species abundance patterns of forest bird communities. Another explanation is that JR changed his interest and investment of time back into his old field of bird migration and orientation.
